Picking Winners for Wild Card Week in the NFL

The Wild Card round always gives us at least a surprise or two. This is how I see it going.

Cleveland at Houston Cleveland. C. J. Stroud had been a fantastic rookie quarterback for the Texans. I will not take nothing away from him. However, I think the Browns defense and Joe Flacco's experience will be enough to win a close game.

Miami at Kansas City Kansas City. The style of offense that the Chiefs play is not conducive to blowing out anybody. The kickoff temperature is supposed to be between -3 and -5 degrees with wind chill of about -27. That would make it the 4th coldest game ever in the NFL. I think the cold weather will be a slight disadvantage to the Dolphins, but anything can happen in a game THIS cold. The playoff experience of the Chiefs should help them win it.

Pittsburgh at Buffalo Buffalo. This game has been moved to Monday at 4:30 due to blowing snow. The Steelers running game might keep the game close for awhile, but the Bills are just too talented to lose this one, even if Josh Allen has a turnover or two.

Green Bay at Dallas Dallas. The Cowboys play extremely well at home. The Packers have a nice, young team, but they will not be able to match the offense that the Cowboys are about to put on them.

Los Angeles Rams at Detroit Detroit. This game has a great storyline. Matthew Stafford is coming home to Detroit where he played most of his career to play a Lions team that has rarely played any home playoff games in the Super Bowl era. It should be a really good game. The energy of the crowd will help the Lions in this one. If they do not have multiple turnovers, I believe they will win.

Philadelphia at Tampa Bay Tampa Bay. I know the Eagles went to the Super Bowl last year, and I know they have some really good players. However, their defense is playing terrible football right now, Jalen Hurts has injury problems with a finger on his throwing hand and with his knee, and A. J. Brown is out of this game. Tampa Bay is not a very good team, either, but they are at home, and I just don't see the Eagles being good enough to beat much of anyone on the road right now.

May God always be your number 1 draft pick!
